The various international pavilions included both the Brazilian footwear and machinery associations, Assintecal and Abrameq, the Spanish footwear association AEC, and the Ministry of Commerce of the Czech Republic.
Local sources state that the fair was quiet, except for Saturday when there was more activity.
However, according to the organisers, buyers travelled from as far away as Saudi Arabia, Germany, Singapore and the Sweden. Exhibitors hope that organisers will reduce the fair to three days next year in line with other international exhibitions.
In addition to the tannery and footwear machinery on display, the ‘Gran salón de moda’ highlighted fashion trends for autumn and winter 2008-09 featuring designs from leaders in the fashion market.
Seminars on trend forecasts for forthcoming seasons were given by Assintecal, AEC and Anpic.
