The partnership between IFM (Institut Français de la Mode) and French Glove Makers, initiated in 2003 by the French Glove Makers Federation and Bureau de Style Chaussure Maroquinerie Cuir, has been renewed as part of the IFM’s Design Course for 2005 which includes a footwear unit and a glove unit in the Accessories section. IFM designers will work on tangible projects in partnership with professional glove makers. The gloves they produce will be displayed at the IFM’s end-of-year event which will present all the work of the Design Course in March 2006.
The inclusion of a glove unit in the Design Course establishes highly motivating links between young designers and the business world. It helps promote glove design as well as the technical and professional sides of glove making.
