After a positive March event, GDS – The Premier Shoe Event and GLS – International Event for Leather Goods & More are looking optimistically to the next season. In order to consistently develop both trade fair concepts and best cater to the needs of the market, trade fair organisers have held numerous talks with international representatives from the footwear and leather goods sector.
Crystallising from these talks was a clear desire for a better choice of days for GDS/GLS and improved timing in relation to Micam. The altered dates will already apply as from September 2006. Instead of running from September 10-12, 2006, as planned, GDS and GLS will now be held from September 15-17, 2006.
The new choice of days from Friday to Sunday is intended to provide relief for the visitor-intensive Sunday which, as experience has shown, is used by the retail trade. Bulk buyers, however, use the first days of the fair, which means the new dates will ensure a more even spread of visitors over the three days of the event.
The new dates also mean that exactly three days will separate GDS/GLS and Micam, thereby offering numerous advantages for visitors. For instance, this will enable them to perfectly combine visits to companies at the fair and showroom dates within a short space of time. And it will also give both national and international exhibitors enough time to be present at both trade fairs, a move particularly in the interest of smaller firms.
The new scheduling will also be maintained in future – in close consultation with Micam. Relevant details will follow.
