At Bologna, Equitan were demonstrating Inkprint, their new inkjet printing device which can be used to print information on the leather as required. It can be attached to a stacker or other piece of equipment and programmed to mark the leather with whatever details are felt necessary: area measurement for example. By printing onto the leather there is a permanent record of choice: bar code, batch number etc. The company also have a device for identifying lime or wet-blue by stamping letters and numbers on to them.

Another useful piece of equipment is the metal detecting bar which can be attached to ironing, embossing or staking machines. This will stop the machine if toggles or any other type of metal pieces are detected, thus preventing damage.
