According to Jürgen Hackenbroich, Regional Head Asia Pacific in the Leather business unit, ‘a new organic tanning system is celebrating its debut at the ACLE. It is based on toxicologically safe organic chemicals for more sustainable and economical wet-white manufacture. And owing to the resulting outstanding leather properties we are reckoning on good market opportunities.’

‘In February 2011 we announced that as part of our new Sustainable Leather Management program we would be expanding and rounding out our portfolio with new sustainable products and developments. We are now able to present to the leather sector an organic tanning material that fits perfectly into our X series. This comprises all our products which are designed for sustainable leather production,’ explained Dr Dietrich Tegtmeyer, Vice President Product Development and Application in Lanxess’s Leather business unit. One of their focuses at the ACLE is Aquaderm X-Shield, an anti-soiling system that has already been introduced to the market and even passes the soiling tests of the automotive industry.

Exhibits include automotive leather of well-known manufacturers.
Lanxess products are available for all stages of leather manufacture from the wet end to finishing.
