At Tanning Tech, Zschimmer & Schwarz were presenting three new products among their comprehensive range. Prinol F-GB is a combination fatliquoring agent of polymeric, synthetic and softeners for automotive leather. Advantages are that it is fish oil free and has low emission values. Leathers fatliquored with Prinol F-GB are characterised by:
* great softness
* excellent fogging behaviour
* low voc and fog values according to the Daimler-Chrysler-Method
* round touch
* excellent heat stability and good lightfastness
* neutral odour
* adhesion of finish is not influenced negatively
Prinol F-GB also has a high emulsifying capacity of up to 100% of its own weight for water-insoluble oils. It is anionic, has an active matter of approximately 65% and has a pH of around 8. Stable to anionic dyestuffs, vegetable and synthetic tanning agents, it is compatible with acids and bases in usual concentrations but is not stable to chrome and aluminium salts.
It is readily soluble in water and a direct addition to the float is possible. It has an emulsifying capacity.
Pellatol 2537 is a multipurpose, lightfast, synthetic fatliquoring agent for all types of soft leather offering the following:
* good softness
* good grain firmness
* round, silky, waxy touch
* good light fastness and resistance to heat-yellowing
* usable for white leathers
* even dyeing
Zschimmer & Schwarz say this product is exceptional for a low-cost fatliquor. It has a chemical composition of synthetic oils and special softeners, is anionic with an active matter of around 60% and a pH of about 7.
It is stable to vegetable and most synthetic tanning agents; anionic dyestuffs and water hardness; not stable to mineral tanning agents and has limited stability to salts, acids and bases. It is readily soluble in water and a direct addition to the float is possible.
Novaltan MSP is a newly developed copolymer tanning agent for the retannage of strong, tight leathers. The use of Novaltan MSP improves the fullness, the firmness and the feel of the leather.
The grain pattern and particularly the grain tightness are improved considerably too. The product is outstandingly lightfast and Z&S say that in contrast to other comparable products, the colours are more brilliant.
Novaltan MSP has an active matter of 25%, is anionic and has a pH of around 10. It is stable to syntans, vegetable tanning agents and other anionic auxiliaries in usual concentrations; not stable to chromium and aluminium salts and has limited stability to neutral salts. It is miscible with water in any ratio.
