Sharma, who along with a team of officers, held a high level meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and senior officers of the state government.
Sharma told Badal that the upcoming leather cluster at Jalandhar was among seven such clusters being set up by the Department of Industrial Promotion and Policy. A cold storage facility would also be provided at the Cargo Terminal of Chandigarh-Mohali International Airport to boost the exports of vegetables, fruits and medicines.
The committee would visit Ludhiana within the next two weeks and submit a report to Sharma so that the Ministry can recommend the setting up of the CETP under Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (IIUS) of the Department of Industrial Promotion of Policy (DIPP).  
As per the scheme, 60% of funding would be done by Centre.
