Leathers for the home in Paris

The forthcoming edition of Le Cuir A Paris will be held from September 14-16 in hall 4 of Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition grounds, Paris. The organisers will be introducing a new exhibition concept called ‘home made’ which will be highlighting hand made/home made items. This space, designed by François Bernard, will be presented in eight steps highlighting the newest colours, textures, surface treatments and sensorial aspects adapted for use on leather for interior decorations and product design. Each step will be materialized with a luminous macro photo of leather together with real samples to be touched. Visitors will see within a calm, half-light the look and feel the new home furnishing innovations.

Design innovators, both French and foreign are all contrbuting to the ‘designers village’ within the show, these include: Martini & Coz (Australia), Mamix (France), Falbalas Création (France), Créanoy (France), Hande Fabbro (Turkey), and Magsant (Mexico).

For example, the Mexican designer Magnum Santillan studies home deco objects that mix a ‘folk’ Mexican spirit and modern style. Finally, the CTC (the leather and footwear technical centre in France) will complete this space with designers that have participated in their workship program.

The show organisers, SIC, also announce that the September edition will include 16 new companies coming from South Africa (Scot), China (Jiangsu Yanano Garments Co), Spain (American Supply Corp, Juan Poveda), USA (CK International), France (Eureka – Derayage Services, Mégisserie Colombier), Italy (Trendintex) and Turkey (Arpel Deri, Cetinkaya, SF Trade, Toprak Kurk, Yilbay Deri) will enrich the autumn/winter 2011-2012 collection with their participation.
