Irish IT company E-Blana and Lithuania’s State Food and Veterinary Service have signed an agreement under which E-Blana will install the Eurovet livestock identification system in Lithuania, according to Baltic Business News. The system will help Lithuania to monitor and control infectious diseases in livestock. It will comprise a database including information on 2.5 million livestock and 250,000 livestock farms. Funding worth e1.5 million for the implementation of the project has been provided by the European Union’s Phare programme.
