Italian machinery manufacturers Bergi have revised models of three machines which were on display at Tanning Tech. For embossing, the Kombipress NE has a reduced number of features in comparison to the Kombipress KR model, making it competitively priced and, therefore, more suitable for developing markets. The Kombipress NE is built in Italy to Bergi’s high engineering specifications, offering greater flexibility in production and simplified ironing and embossing operations.
For rollercoating, Bergi have also devised a system of water-based or stucco finishes for use with their full hide rollercoater, Supercoat. Normal or special finishes can be applied using the stucco roller from Bergi. Two new rollers are available, one for buffalo hides and one for cow hides. This system is ideal for upgrading poor quality raw materials.
The company have also introduced new patented cylinders for their polishing machine. Kurta KR is the name of the new cylinder which falls between a stone roller and a v-groove naxos type roller.
The cost of the Kurta KR roller is less than half that of a conventional stone cylinder. An additional advantage is that it can be made in lengths of up to 3,000mm which is not possible with a stone cylinder. Kurta KR is available in several working widths between 1,200 – 3,000 mm.
