‘Congratulations to every exporter of fashion or textiles and to UKFT for providing the occasion to celebrate the successes of this important contribution to the UK economy,’ she said. UK TV celebrity, Claudia Winkleman, also presented the awards.
Pittards are enjoying a surge of success following a restructuring of its business and increased investment in facilities both in the UK and overseas. Last year they created a new design department with its own in-house design team. Earlier this year the company launched its first official collection of Pittards branded fashion items including leather jackets and gloves sold at its online shop, factory shop and soon at various retailers.
‘Export is key to our business and of course the future of the country,’ said Pittards’ CEO Reg Hankey. ‘Our continued dedication to research plus investment in new plants and facilities have ensured we remain real leaders in the development and production of innovative leathers and fashionable leather items.
‘Being named in the top three in two divisions in this prestigious awards programme is a real testament to our team and all their efforts across the world,’ he said.
Pittards is especially recognised for its language capabilities and knowledge of doing business overseas, an aspect that has contributed towards its export success.
UKFT works within the global fashion marketplace for the benefit of fashion, clothing and knitting businesses across the UK.
