The sale avoids the environmental costs of disposing of the site and offers local workers and the community continued chemical production on the site.

‘Being a producer of process chemicals we have a client target group similar to the German DyStar company in Geretsried’, explains Dr Yusuf Aktalay, general manager, Pulcra Chemicals. ‘We can complement our supply chain and offer new services to our customers. That’s why we are very interested in investing in this location.’

The Geretsried site was the former production plant of leather chemical maker Dr Boehme which was acquired by DyStar and was not included in the recent sale of the business to Kiri Dyes and Chemicals Ltd from India. DyStar are to continue production of leather chemicals from other production sites located around the world.
