TFL’s new Erhavit DC is a highly effective liming agent designed to improve the cleanliness of the grain as well as the cutting yield and reduce seasonal fine hair and roots.
The highly concentrated formulation is based on selective reductive substances and non-volatile amines. This new beamhouse product improves the liming operation by reducing excessive swelling and growth marks without making the leather loose.
Erhavit DC penetrates effectively down to the hair-root, before swelling begins which would make removal of the hair impossible. This results in good scud loosening and reduction of bloodstains. Erhavit DC offers more even, more brilliant dyeing, which in turn facilitates the production of pastel shade leathers. The product drastically reduces the problem of residual hair on nubuck leather.
Erhavit DC enhances the opening-up of the hide structure and is also very effective in regulating swelling, thus avoiding draw during the liming process, resulting in an optimum area yield. In addition the uniformly opened-up structure provides an even penetration of tanning and re-tanning products, thus improving inner softness. The improvement of quality also shows up in less obvious veins.
Erhavit DC is suitable for both hair-saving and hair-pulping processes and allows unhairing with a reduced amount of sulfide.
