Flamar Tomboni launched their new Maxima series of throughfeed sammying machines at Tanning Tech. The new machine has been fitted with a patented spreading roller to improve the spreading action during sammying, particularly along the flanks of hides or sides. The spreading action leaves the leather suitably prepared for setting out, splitting or shaving with increased area yield and without causing looseness.

Maxima 3 has three large sammying rollers which are capable of applying 80 tons of pressure across two rollers onto hides. The Italian company have also introduced the Maxima 4 and Maxima 5 which have four and five sammying rollers respectively.

The Maxima 4 can apply 120 tons of pressure across three sammying rollers, with two independent pressure regulators on the main pressure rollers. The Maxima 5 is capable of exerting 140 tons of pressure across four sammying rollers, with three independent pressure regulators on the sammying cylinders.

The new machines are available in a number of working widths including 2.5, 2.8, 3.1 and 3.3m. They have been designed for processors of wet-blue, wet-white or vegetable tanned leathers where a thorough sammying is required. The Maxima 3 can be easily upgraded to a Maxima 4 or 5 by the simple addition of extra rollers.
