USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service reports that the US exported hides and skins worth US$19.1 million to Germany in 2002, compared with US$11 million the previous year. American hides and skins imports from Germany last year totalled US$296,000, against US$236,000 in 2001.

The US imported hides and skins worth US$2.29 million from Russia last year, compared with US$2.71 million in 2001. In addition, US hides and skins imports from Tajikistan reached a record US$10,000 last year.
