Action against Ugandan trader

A trader with Arzignano Leather Company, Hong Kong, recently visited Kampala to testify in a sh700 million suit against a local hides and skins company owned by Hassan Bassajabalaba. Beeny Cheungi Chi Wai is accusing Bassajabalaba of not supplying hides and skins to the value of the contract, causing Arzignano loss of profits and breaching their contract. The hearing was postponed while Bassajabalaba successfully applied to the court to force Arzignano pay sh12 million as security against legal costs.
