ALPA and Shafi Reso sign deal

ALPA have signed an agreement to make, distribute and market their products with Shafi Reso Chem (SRC) from Pakistan. ALPA will supply the technology and the know-how and a limited product range will be made by SRC on behalf of ALPA. Products produced in Pakistan by SRC will be sold using the ALPA brand name and trade marks and marketed to tanners in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Iraq and Iran. It is anticipated that the agreement will be extended in the future and other lines from ALPA will be included. SRC will also market all of ALPA's range of products in the territory. The agreement was signed by Gloria Gualtieri, ceo of ALPA and senior executives from SRC. Shafi Reso-Chem are a speciality chemical manufacturing company who are part of the Shafi Group of companies. The Shafi Group are also leading producers of finished leather and leather products in Pakistan. SRC have manufacturing facilities and application/customer service laboratories in Karachi and Lahore and the division employs 100 people. Shafi Reso-Chem are ISO 9001 certified and they have the capacity to produce approximately 6,000 tons of chemicals per annum. SRC are currently exporting chemicals to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, Bangladesh and Myanmar. They also have product lines in the textile, paper, cement and paint/coating industries as well as leather.
