American interest in Vietnamese goods

8 December 2006

The American Importers' Association (AIA) says that leathergoods are among the Vietnamese commodities with the greatest potential to increase their export to the US this year and in 2007, according to the Vietnamese News Agency. The AIA's director general, Philip W Byrd, met with nearly 200 Vietnamese exporters in Ho Chi Minh City on November 13 to discuss how to sell their goods in the US. A recent survey of 1,000 American importers revealed that 79% of them would be willing to purchase Vietnamese goods.
