Back to work at Tyson's Lakeside plant

14 November 2005

Striking workers at Tyson Foods' Lakeside Packers have returned to work and the plant is expected to return to its 20,000/week capacity soon. At another Tyson plant the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that companies must pay plant workers for the time it takes to change into protective clothing and walk to their work stations. The case involved a plant now owned by Tyson Foods Inc but formerly owned by IBP Inc. The plant in Pasco must now pay $3.1 million in damages to 815 Tyson workers. Source: Hidenet.com
