1 July 2001

BASF have inaugurated a new 4kt acrylic dispersions plant in Shanghai. The plant is located in BASF's first wholly-owned production site, BASF Colorants and Chemicals Co Ltd (BACC) in the Pudong New Area. The new facility features BASF technology to produce environmentally friendly dispersions for surface coatings, adhesive, construction and non-woven industries. Production is mainly aimed at the Chinese domestic market but some exports within Asia are planned to enhance the group's existing acrylic dispersion production in the region. BASF currently produce acrylic dispersions in India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Australia, Philippines and Japan as well as at BACC in Shanghai.
