Bosnia and Herzegovina production in 2006

Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federal Office of Statistics reports that tanneries in Bosnia and Herzegovina produced 235,000 square metres of leather for shoe uppers manufacture in 2006. Production in the first nine months of 2005 totalled only 96,000 square metres. The country also produced 3.22 million pairs of leather footwear last year, as against 2.20 million pairs in the January to September 2005 period. It was also reported that 108,767 head of cattle of a total net weight of 16,146 tonnes were slaughtered at abattoirs in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2006. These figures were respectively 5.9% land 0.7% lower than in 2005.
