Bureau de Style produce four trend tools

19 January 2005

Work has begun on the Summer 2006 season and Bureau de Style will be producing four trend tools for this season. These tools are relevant to all players in the leather industry; manufacturers, designers and buyers. They are released early in the season and are extremely useful tools for firms starting work on their new collections. The trend books combine observation of coming trends with the Bureau's expertise in the leather sector. They reflect the mood of the times and the fashion trends for the season, supply a reliable frame of reference and give suggestions for further development that fi rms can interpret to suit their particular segments, identity and tastes. The colour and materials guide kicks off the season. It explores sociological influences and fashion trends: new consumer attitudes, ready-to-wear styles for men, women and children, colours for textiles, colour highlights and specific materials for the leather industry. The guide includes a preview of the leather colour range. It also includes creative ideas for accessories and an address book of interesting places, concept stores and exhibitions. It lets you know what's in the air. It is being released in mid January 2005. The leather colour chart takes a general approach to colour and is relevant to all leather sectors. It provides full, specialised information on colours, materials and textures and is presented as a pull-out booklet, illustrated with mood visuals and leather samples. For summer 2006, it includes 30 leather colours divided into four moods: Impeccable, Subdued, Venomous, Primitive. The footwear and leather goods trend books indicate that summer 2006 will be subtle, revamping chic looks and rich in folklore, nature and charm. Bureau de Style has defined four fashion moods for the season: Afrik Graphic, Romance Nature, Vista Sol, Tropic Cocktail. Two trend books will be structured around these themes and geared respectively to the specific needs of the footwear and leathergoods sectors. They present sketches, shapes and materials appropriate to the main fashion themes for the season as well as concept visuals and specific colour ranges: design ideas and technical information give double the value. The footwear trend book is due to be released in mid March for Midec and the leathergoods trend book in mid April. The indoor footwear seminar: Each season, Bureau de Style holds a presentation of trends in indoor footwear which gives companies specialised in this sector valuable fashion and sociological information as they are about to tackle their new collections. The indoor footwear seminar for Summer 2006 will be held in Angoulême on 15 February 2005. Leathergoods meeting: As a preview, before the leathergoods trend book Summer 2006 is released, professionals in the leathergoods sector are invited to a meeting on April 14, 2005. An opportunity to take stock before Lineapelle. Temporary appointment: Anne Debord, who gained sound experience of fashion and leather with Chevignon, has joined the team to replace Bénédicte Vermerie, director of Bureau de Style, who will be away on maternity leave from January 12, 2005. Contact Anne Debord, tel: +33 1 44 71 71 90, [email protected] Support for design: Bureau de Style keeps an eye on design. It sits on panels for design schools and brands, teaches at the Institut Colbert and gives carte blanche to its students in the footwear trend book, and puts manufacturers in touch with designers. In 2005, Bureau de Style will be even more active in this field. It has been given two new missions which will both generate partnerships with manufacturers: the design and follow up of Pôle Imagine at Midec Paris dedicated to young designers and new ideas in footwear and the renewal of the partnership between French glove makers and the Institut Français de la Mode, initiated in 2003. Bureau de Style offers trade fairs in the sector its expertise in trend consultancy, style coordination and forum design and production. In the first quarter, the agency will be involved in: Le Cuir A Paris (March 9-10) forum design and fashion information for the Trend Gallery; Mod'amont (March 9-12) forum design for 'Shoes & Leather Goods' focusing on footwear and leathergoods; Midec Paris (March 5-7) research, selection and display of products in the fashion information forums and follow-up of Imagine. Website: News flashes complement and update the fashion information in their trend books. They provide real-time information on European trade fairs specialising in fashion and home design: supplies and trimmings, finished products, leather, textiles, fashion and decoration. The information covers several seasons and is relevant to all players in the leather industry and the fashion business. 46 fair reports went on line in 2004.
