C&E open new PU plant

Indian leather finishing chemical makers, C&E have constructed a new plant to produce PU binders for the leather industry within their leather chemical finishing factory at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh at the foothills of the Himalayas. C&E say that this is the first plant in India to produce polyurethane binders in the country using European technology.


Rafeeque Ahmed, Chairman, Indian Council for Leather Exports & Footwear Design and Development Institution officially inaugurated the plant on February, 16 along with B D Bhaiya, Chairman and G D Bagri, Managing Driector of C&E.

The new plant covers a surface area of 10,000 sq ft and will have the capacity to produce between 50-60 tons of polyurethanes a month. Production also includes C&E’s latest range of leather finishing chemicals under their Puthane brand name.
