Countdown begins for fMM&T India 201014 January 2010
The second edition of Footwear Materials, Manufacturing & Technology Exhibition (fMM&T) 2010 will be held at Indian Expo centre Greater Noida from May 7-9, 2010. Managed by leading leather and materials trade fair organiser APLF, UBM India and in partnership with Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA), fMM&T India 2010 is likely to attract more than 6,000 trade visitors and over 180 exhibitors from India and abroad.
The first edition of fMM&T India was very well received by the industry fMM&T India 2009 cited high foot traffic from both local and international buyers eager to do business, signaling optimism for the footwear and leather industries. fMM&T India 2009 attracted 3,249 buyers from 16 countries including China, India, Italy, Taiwan, UAE and USA. First edition of fMM&T India had over 140 exhibitors from prominent leather manufacturing countries and regions including Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, UAE, Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and USA, and also featured international pavilions from Taiwan and Spain.
fMM&T India provides platform for the latest trends and concepts in the footwear and leather sector. The exhibition provides an ideal opportunity to market for the South Asian region, making accessible the latest industry information and innovations in technology. The show also offers the ideal platform to gather invaluable tailored support and advice and exchange best practice.

fMM&T India 2010 will host a complete trade event for the footwear and leather industry, allowing manufacturers of footwear, leather garments, importers, exporters and distributors of leather components, designers, brand owners and product developers to meet under one roof. There will be a packed programme of seminars and workshops.
The target exhibitors at fMM&T India 2010 are suppliers of the footwear & leather industry and will display raw high performance fabrics. Other exhibits include finishing chemicals & dyes, shoe machinery equipment & tools, CAD-CAM design and supply chain software technology and other services.
Despite the global slow down the Indian Economy has shown a positive growth Leather Industry holds a prominent place in the Indian economy. This sector is known for its consistency in high export earnings and it is among the top ten foreign exchange earners for the country.With an annual turnover of over US$7 billion, the export of leather and leather products increased manifold over the past decades and touched US$3.59 billion in 2008-09, recording a cumulative annual growth rate of about 9.58%.
Export of footwear (leather footwear, footwear components and non-leather footwear) increased from US$ 1365.21 million in Apr-Feb 2007-08 to US$1393.04 million in April 08 to February 2009, accounting for a major share of 42% in India’s total leather export trade.
Footwear alone holds a major share of 42% in India’s total leather products export trade. This is followed by Leather Goods with a share of 24.22%, finished leather 19.10%, leather garments 12.35%.
All this makes India one of the fastest growing and important markets for leather and footwear Industry. On this high note fMM&T India 2010 is all set to provide an ideal platform to Indian leather and footwear industry to showcase the latest innovation and technology.
