Dalton sign jv agreement in Asia

Gruppo Chimico Dalton, suppliers of commodity chemicals and auxiliaries for the leather industry, have signed a joint venture agreement with CCP (Chang Chun Plastics) in Taiwan to produce leather chemicals in Asia. The joint venture company is known as Chandal. Production is located in the Taiwanese city of Miao-Li, close to Taipei and will allow the jv company to produce up to 33,000 tons of chromium salts per annum as well as other leather chemicals. Dalton currently have the capacity to produce up to 14,000 tons of chromium salts a year. This figure is enough to satisfy demand in the Italian market and some export markets but Chandal hope to increase their market share in Asia in new markets such as Korea, Taiwan and China. Gruppo Chimico Dalton, who are located close to Milan, Italy, produce chromium salts, sodium sulfide and hydrosulfide flakes for liming and vegetable extracts for use in the leather sector. Leather chemicals represent approximately 20% of the total group production.
