Difficult times for Ronan

The Irish tanning group Ronan have announced the layoff of 100 people from the company including the tannery. Staff have also been laid off from the company's Dublin distribution centre and offices. The company have reported that a small core of the workforce will remain to maintain minimum operations. Ronan are hoping that the situation will improve in the future and the staff can return to work. The Ronan Leathers tannery is located in the town of Clonmel, County Tipperary, Southern Ireland. They process wet salted bovine hides through to wet-blue and sheepskins through to pickled pelts or wet-blue leather.
