EU Abolish GSP on Vietnam

4 July 2008

The European Commission has decided to abolish the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) on EU imports of Vietnamese-made leather shoes, according to the Vietnamese News Agency.

The measure will be applied from the start of next year. The Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association said Vietnamese leather and footwear exports will rise by nearly 13% this year, compared with 2007, to about US$4.5 billion.
