Hebei province most productive tanning region

According to data released by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) during the first three months of this year tanning sector (based on large sized enterprises) production saw a year-on-year growth of 25.7% in production value to RMB 35.3 billion ($5.5 billion), but in terms of growth rate it was 4.8% less than the previous year.


Leather made in Hebei province in North Eastern China was ranked first nationally in production value.

The total national light leather production was 150 million square meters, up 7.4% higher than the previous year but 11.6% lower in terms of growth rate. Hebei province was also the top production volume region for light leathers.
