Igloo from Vallero International

6 October 2010

Vallero International will demonstrate their new Igloo drum made of thermoplastic materials and featuring their Vortex internal layout at Tanning Tech next week. The show takes place alongside, Lineapelle in Bologna, October 12-14. Igloo is a new technology where the drum can be built and shipped disassembled using traditional transportation means thus avoiding expensive logistical costs. The thickness of the Igloo drum allows the operator to maintain the temperature of the float and consequently to save energy. The drum interior is perfectly smooth and non-porous.

Igloo allows the change colours from batch-to-batch as the internal drum surface is perfectly clean at the end of each process. In fact, Igloo is suitable for food industry processes such as the production of gelatin as the thermoplastic used does not leach any substances during the process. Igloo is also recommended for vegetable tanning operations where the grain is more delicate.

Vallero’s Vortex system offers energy savings from 50 - 65% and chemical savings between 5 - 20%.

They will also demonstrate their automation systems for water (Aquamat) and chemicals (Dosamat) on their stand at the show.
