Le Cuir attracts fashion buyers

26 February 2010

International buyers were out in force at the 18th edition of Le Cuir A Paris. The show took place February 9-12, 2010, in hall 4, Paris Nord Villepinte and hosted 224 exhibitors including 17 new companies. Leathers for the spring/summer 2011 edition were shown.

The main exhibiting countries were Italy (48%), France (24%) and Spain (9%). The growing presence of leather in apparel fashion obviously helps the sector as the show is run alongside the larger event, Premiere Vision. Laurent Bové from Cuirs du Futur, France was pleased with the strong demand for high quality stretch leather they exhibited. ‘We have taken orders from French and Italian manufacturers but also from the Far East. Paris really is the meeting point for fashion. The dates and location are perfect’, he said.
A total of 10,226 visitors (60% from outside France) were registered over the four days of the show. This represents an increase of about 2% compared to the February 2009 edition.
‘This show enables us to confirm the current and future season tends. The fashion information and the colour range is really discerning. It’s the place for professional exchanges with our suppliers’, says Caroline Eschaich, collection director for Camille Fournet
The next edition of Le Cuir A Paris will take place from September 14-16, 2010. Béatrice Rousseau, show manager, outlines that this change from four to three days is in response to the expectations of exhibitors who wish to reduce the length of their presence at trade shows in general.
