Leather industry wages in eastern Europe

Croatia's Central Bureau of Statistics reports that the average gross monthly wage in Croatia's leather industry in the first nine months of this year was US$650, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.


In comparison, the average gross monthly wage in Croatia in the January to September period this year was US$1,352. Poland's Central Statistics Office reports that the average gross monthly wage in the Polish leather industry in the first ten months of this year was US$628, an increase of 9.5% compared with the same period in 2007. Serbia's Statistical Office reports that the average monthly wage in Serbia's leather industry in the first nine months of this year was US$294, 20.3% higher than in the same period in 2007. In comparison, the average monthly wage in Serbia in the January to October period this year was US$637. Ukraine's State Statistics Committee reports that the average monthly wage in Ukraine's leather industry in the first ten months of this year was US$152, compared with US$123 in the same period in 2007. In comparison, the average monthly industrial wage in Ukraine in the January to October period this year was US$301.
