New wax from Rotta
16 February 2003
Warm 'distressed' looking leathers can be achieved after milling with Rotta's new Magic Wax 89. The German leather chemical manufacturers have designed a new wax, which can be used to upgrade poor quality or split leathers. After milling, there is a very strong white effect which is reversible after ironing. Magic Wax 89 may be applied to crust or pre-finished leathers for a range of applications including footwear upper, doubleface, garment, upholstery or leathergoods leathers. The anionic cream solution has a pH value of 8-9 and contains approximately 22% solid matter. It is an aqueous synthetic wax emulsion, which is able to produce leathers with pull-up or white break appearances. It has medium hardness and should be stored between 5-40°C. On full grain leathers, Magic Wax 89 can be added lightly to the surface of the leather to achieve a slightly slippy and non-waxy feel. This product may also be applied after milling to produce a light silky touch to the leather.
