Novelties from Dermochimica

19 December 2005

At Tanning Tech 2005, Dermochimica presented innovative effects on leather, created using their new range of fatliquors. Innovative chemicals have been created thanks to the continuous research activity of their laboratories and technical staff. Coriol X6 is a fatliquor that ensures excellent results on all types of leather from upholstery to garment and shoe upper, giving fullness without the need for large quantities of retanning agents. Nemostop 42 is a synthetic fatliquor that gives a softness which is not obtainable by normal applications. It also produces leather with a very low specific weight. In order to create vintage style leathers, Dermochimica recommend use of the following products to create finishing effects: Cuiroplast RS, a hard acrylic resin with a characteristic glass effect, combined with Brillante B/15, a strong highly glossy casein. The crackly finish is accentuated by padding with Dermasolve aniline range. Dermochimica have also developed a new process to wrinkle leathers, thus creating unnatural geometries which form matt-glaze contrasts, through the use of anionic bottom coats. Base K/770 wax from Dermochimica gives naturalness to the leather. Used to produce wrinkled finished leather, it has a very natural look and the new formulations give the finished leather a particular added value and improved fastness.
