Scottish metallic gold leather for top London hotel

16 March 2012

The newest luxury hotel in London, the five-star Montcalm, has specified Scottish leather manufacturer, Andrew Muirhead for their fine dining restaurant, The Grill. With the 2012 Olympics on the horizon, the London hotel industry is set to pick up and this decadent addition to the scene is set for a good first year.

Located at the top of Park Lane in the heart of Marble Arch, the hotel has a fresh contemporary feel that still retains its heritage. As specified by furniture designers Orbium, Andrew Muirhead Low Carbon Leather in Metallic Gold was used on dining chairs and fixed banquette seating in the restaurant.

Hides were selected that reflect the ‘rationale’ colour trend of this year, looking at a restrained philosophy and elegant sustainable design – clearly reflected at The Grill.

Andrew Wylie, director at Orbium, commented: ‘Andrew Muirhead leather was specified due to the quality and breadth of their colour palette. We need a material for this project that would match the bespoke lighting scheme and Andrew Muirhead had the best colour matching service available’.

Archie Browning, sales director, Andrew Muirhead & Son commented: ‘To have another five star boutique hotel to add to our impressive list of contracts this year is credit to the whole team at Andrew Muirhead. Our flexible manufacturing process ensures that we can meet the specifications of any designer requirements.’
