Starlux S - ironing and embossing from Bergi

It has the possibility to be equipped with three different operative rollers. The revolving roller carousel is fully automatic, quick, flexible, accurate and safe for both the machine and, importantly, the operators.
The main characteristic of Starlux S is the innovative pressing system that gives the tanner a chance to process leathers by pressure or by thickness. Moreover, for the most skilled operators there is the opportunity to work with a mix between the two modes, creating effects on the leathers that were not possible before.
Classic through-feed ironing and embossing machines work by pressure, the operative roller remains idle but requires direct contact with the felt to rotate.
Different from the classic operation, the Starlux or Starlux S is equipped with motorised operative rollers, which have independent speed control with regards to the main traction (ie the felt conveyor). This allows the machine to operate as a traditional through-feed press (ie by contact between operative roller and felt conveyor). It can also be used by thickness by adjusting the gap between operative roller and felt conveyor according to the thickness of the processed leathers.

Ironing by variable thickness
The possibility to iron by thickness allows the tanner to iron without crushing the leather, keeping the natural softness and touch. Additionally, embossing the leather by having the roller running separately at the same speed as the felt gives a higher definition of the print (particularly noticeable on the hair cell prints). This is because it avoids smears caused by the action of the felt driven roller.
Starlux S comes equipped with a mirrored chrome surface ironing roller, a sandblasted roller and a hair cell roller. An independent heating unit serves each one. However, each machine can be tailor made to meet the specific needs of any tanner or finisher.
