Tanac Supertan XL

Supertan XL from Tanac is a highly modified Mimosa extract in order to achieve and enhance similar properties of the wide group of different condensed tannins. It has a high tannin content (minimum 77.5% on dry-basis - filter method) and gives a natural brownish colour to the leather. Ideal for producing of veg tanned vachettas and semi-chrome leathers. Supertan XL has high penetration speed that promotes the development of leathers with excellent fullness. It is suitable for all types of leather including the use in the retannage. It can be combined with Mimosa extracts in order to impart excellent filling and a very nice burnishing effect. It is produced from renewable resources and is an eco-friendly vegetable extract. The following characteristics are achieved by using Supertan XL on vegetable tanning: * Sole leathers with uniform cut are produced * Efficient penetration * Good fixation into the leather * Exceptional weight yield * Excellent fullness * Fine and smooth grain Supertan XL is also very suitable for leather retannage that promotes the following advantages: * Leathers with more fullness * Improved buffing properties * Greater results for embossed/printed leathers * Excellent burnishing effects The product can be used alone or blended with other vegetable tannin extracts, synthetic or auxiliarie, and the following uses can be recommended: Based on limed weight * 25 to 30% of Supertan XL for vachettas tanning * 40-45% of Supertan XL for sole leather tanning (ideal 45%) Tanac recommend using 1 to 5 % of Syntac VG (veg-syntan) as dispersing agent during the Supertan XL usage. Based on shaved weight * 5 to 15% of Supertan XL for chrome leather retanning * Tanac recommend using 1-5 % of Syntac CW (Tanac's syntan) as dispersing agent during the Supertan XL usage
