Trend selection comes to London
10 September 2009UNIC, the Italian tanners' association and organiser of the Lineapelle leather fair hosted a Trend Selection mini exhibition in London on September 9. A similar event also took place in New York earlier this month. A small group of 12 Italian tanners and one from Spain showed highlights of their autumn/winter 2010/11 collections to invited buyers and designers at the one-day event.
The Trend Selection took place Central St Martins College of Art & Design - Innovation Centre in central London. It was the second event following a successful inauguration in the spring of 2009. ‘We have seen a lot of interest in our stingray and python printed calfskins leathers, particularly in orange', Laura Pasquinelli, sales manager, Conceria Samantha, told Leather International. ‘The trend selection allows us to introduced our products directly to British designers and buyers as they are often difficult to meet. We also use the event to see existing customers', she added. Conceria Samantha from Ponte a Egola (Pisa) produce high quality calfskin leathers for footwear and leathergoods. Their full collection will be on show at the forthcoming Lineapelle and Le Cuir A Paris shows.
The majority of the tanners present highlighted high-end footwear, leathergoods and garment leathers.
