UK training grants from BLIDT

19 January 2005

Training grants are now available to UK tanners and leather manufacturers courtesy of the trustees of the British Leather Industry Development Trust. The Trust was originally established in the early 1980s with the objective of 'advancing the theoretical and practical education and training of persons engaged in or to be engaged in the UK leather industry.' Grants shall be awarded to assist the funding of UK leather industry sponsored students enrolled in either full or part time further education courses. The grants are designed to encourage employers to make further education available to their staff in order to improve the skill base of the UK leather industry. The awards shall be made at the discretion of the Trustees and applications shall be considered only from independent UK tanners and leather manufacturers employing fewer than 100 people.
