Switzerland-based standards organization Oeko-Tex has unveiled its outcomes for 2022/2023, releasing over 43,000 certificates and labels. During the timeframe spanning from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, Oeko-Tex recorded a remarkable 21% year-on-year escalation in this achievement. Particularly noteworthy is the impressive 52% expansion exclusively for its Made in Green label.

In its report, the company prominently featured the introduction of the Responsible Business tool and certification in November 2022. This innovative tool plays a pivotal role in assisting textile and leather enterprises in mitigating adverse impacts arising from their internal operations, supply chains, and broader business associations.

Oeko-Tex's strategic collaborations with multi-stakeholder initiatives were also emphasized in the report. One such collaboration was with ZDHC, aimed at advancing sustainable chemical management. Furthermore, Oeko-Tex proudly became a member of the ISEAL community.

Among the noteworthy milestones of this period was Oeko-Tex's comprehensive ban on per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS/PFC) in textiles, leather, and footwear certified under Standard 100, Leather Standard, and Eco Passport. Lastly, Oeko-Tex celebrated surpassing the significant threshold of 1,000 STeP-certified production facilities within the stated period.
