Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Federal Statistics Office reports that leather industry production in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first seven months of this year was 7.9% lower than in the same period in 2004. In comparison, overall industrial output in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period from January to July was 5.7% higher year-on-year.

The country produced a total of 64,000 sq m of leather for use in the manufacture of shoe uppers in the first half of this year, as compared with 83,000 sq m in the same period in 2004.

55,630 head of cattle of a total weight of 8,010 tonnes were slaughtered in abattoirs in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first half of 2005, respectively 6.4% and 18.8% higher than in the same period in 2004.
