Production: Tyson Foods process a full range of wet-blue, and brine cured cattle hides sourced from their own packing plants. They also process brine cured pigskins. They are one of the largest tanners of wet-blue in the world.

Other information: Chris Daniel oversees the buying and selling side of the company’s beef business. A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Daniel began his meat industry career in 1983 as a sales representative for IBP, inc. in the company’s Dallas Service Center. He later worked for BeefAmerica and Nebraska Beef before rejoining IBP, now known as Tyson Fresh Meats, in 1998 as assistant vice president-international sales.

He has since held several senior management positions in Tyson’s meat and allied products business. He was appointed vice president-hides, leather & skins in 2000 and promoted to senior vice president-allied products for Tyson Fresh Meats in 2004. One year later he moved to Tyson world headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas, where he managed all of Tyson’s chicken, beef and pork by-products operations, serving as senior vice president of specialty products. Chris returned to Tyson Fresh Meats headquarters in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, in October 2007, when he assumed his current position.
