Hungary’s Central Statistical Office reports that the production of leather and leather products in Hungary in the first half of this year was 7.3% lower than in the same period in 2004. Hungarian leather industry companies saw their sales fall by 8.4% year-on-year in the January to June period, including a fall in sales of 20.9% on the domestic Hungarian market and 3.6% lower sales on export markets.
