The Master was greeted by the school’s dean, Professor Chen. Collinson presented the university with a specially bound collection of 50 years (1957-2007) of the Journal of the Society of Leather Technologists and Chemists. He then gave a short talk on the Leathersellers Company, its history and its role in supporting education and specifically the University. Mark Wilkinson and Mike Redwood ran a session on the future of the leather and leather products industry. The party were then taken on a detailed tour of the facilities and given a banquet lunch. Discussions are being held to finalise an agreement whereby students at Sichuan will be able to complete their final year in Northampton and subsequently be awarded a degree from both Sichuan and Northampton Universities.
