Huub van Beijeren, ceo of Stahl, Pielcolor’s parent company, said at the opening ceremony: ‘China is the most important leather market and therefore it is a must for Pielcolor to have a professional organisation in China, with the right facilities. Pielcolor used to be a Spanish company, it developed into an international company, but from today onwards, after this opening, it is also a Chinese company.’
Manuel Orts, general manager Pielcolor worldwide, and Enrique Pelegrin, general manager, Pielcolor China also addressed the audience at the ceremony.
The new site covers an area of 1200 sqm with an application laboratory and physical test lab, both with all the necessary machinery to develop any type of leather. The facility also has office space covering 500-sqm and is divided in two floors with offices and meeting rooms for customers to work together with the Pielcolor staff. There is also a small warehouse where samples can be prepared to send to technicians, agents and customers for further finishing trials.
In addition to the new site Pielcolor will also continue regular technical visits from Spanish technicians to China and global technical director, Jordi Riasol, will visit the new technical service centre twice a year to demonstrate with customers the newest articles and fashion trends.
