Vietnam’s General Statistics Office reports that Vietnam exported footwear worth US$3.2 billion in the first eleven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 19.3%, according to the Vietnamese News Agency. The Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (Lefaso) said that the reason for the large year-on-year increase in exports was due to increased exports to the United States of around 40%. Lefaso said that the eleven-month export figure was higher than expected, and was achieved in spite of the European Union imposing anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese footwear.
