Vietnamese footwear exports up 13% for January to October

Vietnamese footwear products had an export turnover of $11.82 billion during the first ten months of 2017, showing a 13% increase year-on-year.

The highest recorded export growth of 53% was to Indonesia, followed by Singapore (45%), Hungary (34%), India (33.7%) and Poland (33%).

The Vietnam Leather Footwear and Handbag Association forecast that production in the footwear sector would see a growth rate of 5% in 2017 compared to last year, and an export value of footwear and handbags reaching nearly $18 billion, or a 10% rise year-on-year.

Vietnam is targeting to export $24 to $26 billion in leather, footwear and handbags by 2020, $35 to $38 billion by 2025, and $50 to $60 billion by 2035.
