Sales of online leather goods shot up by 52% year-on-year in the three months to October 15, as retailers invest in trans-seasonal fabrics. Leather skirts was the largest growth category, up by 86%, according to a report by data analyst firm Editd. Dresses were up by 76%, outerwear was up 60%, trousers by 39% and shorts by 20% compared to the same time last year. Most of the products in the report lie between £150 and £722, but the price bracket with the most options was £40 to £60, which grew 164% year-on-year, illustrating the strength of the mass market in leather.
