Production: 4.0 million square feet per month of American Lifestyle leather (mainly footwear upper) from cowhides. 2.0 million square feet per month from ovine lambskin production for garment etc. 2.0 million square feet per month for automotive bovine leathers through an agreement with GST Leather.
Key customers/brands: Nike, Cole Haan, Johnston & Murphy, Calvin Klein, Merrell, Clarks, Born, HH Brown. Sperry Topsider, Wolverine. Through an agreement with GST Leather to Toyota, Chery, Peugeot, Citroen.
Other information: Since opening in 1995 SRL have become the leading leather producer in Asia and the only tanning business in the world that produces leathers for automotive, garment, footwear and leathergoods from a single site.
Prior to joining SRL in the spring of this year Bob Moore was president and CEO of Prime Tanning Co Inc in the US when he joined the business in 2000. The group included Cudahy Leather and Irving Tanning as well as the Prime Tanning operations. Under his control the group created new finished leather and blueing strategies and he also strengthened the company’s brand and focus on high-value customers.
Prior to joining Prime he worked for a number of years occupying senior positions for a number of businesses in the footwear industry which included IUSA – a large Mexican conglomerate, Stride Rite, Bostonian Shoe Company and Johnston & Murphy Shoe Company. Moore has a marketing degree from the University of Mississippi.
