Ukraine’s State Statistics Committee reports that there were a total of 7.43 million head of livestock in Ukraine on August 1 this year, a fall of 6.4% compared with the same date in 2004. In regional terms, the Vinnytsya oblast, with 472,300 head, had the most cattle in Ukraine, followed by the Lviv oblast with 431,100 head.
