Being one of the UK’s oldest family-owned leather brands, Barney & Taylor, founded in Manchester’s textiles quarter in 1911, is setting their sights on the high-end retail market for autumn/winter 2014 with a new brand identity and collection, balancing the legacy of the past with the spirit of the future.

Behind the renaissance are the fourth-generation Arron brothers Michael and Richard, who are launching a full range of leather jackets and accessories in the UK, Europe and internationally, complete with the ‘worker’ bee symbol and the honeycomb pattern in jacket linings and accessories — a nod to their Manchester heritage during the Industrial Revolution.

"Leather is part of our family’s DNA," said Richard Arron, co-director of Barney & Taylor. "We are committed to evolving the Barney & Taylor brand, launching this year for autumn/winter 2014 with the clear aim of becoming a global market leader in luxury leather."
