Diesel Front Runners to Acquire Cavalli

19 December 2018

Renzo Rosso, founder of Diesel, is reportedly interested in purchasing the Italian luxury label Cavalli through his OTB holding company.

Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore reported that OTB is one of twelve companies to have expressed an interest in acquiring the historic Italian fashion house.

Clessidra, the private equity firm in control of Cavalli, are reportedly considering a partial or total sale. In October, the company confirmed that it hired Rothschild to search for a minority partner to help fund growth.

Along with Diesel, OTB owns luxury apparel labels Maison Margiela, Marni and Viktor & Rolf. Acquiring Roberto Cavalli would wrap up a busy fourth quarter for Diesel and OTB.
